West Plains, MO- University of Missouri Extension in Howell County is offering an opportunity to tour fields of Big Bluestem, Little Bluestem, and Indian grass at the Uminn Farm.  Teresa and Doug Uminn will share about their establishment and management of their native warm season grasses. Discussion will be had about the benefits of prescribed burning pastures. 

Haley Schwantz, MU Extension Agronomy Specialist and Elizabeth Picking, MU Extension Livestock specialist will be there to answer questions about how native warm season grass varieties can work on your farm. 

Water will be provided. 

This event is free but registration is required as parking is limited. 

We will meet at the Howell County Extension Center at 3pm and then head out to the farm roughly 6 miles away.
