Protecting animal health starts with prevention.
Join University of Missouri Extension for a two-hour workshop, “Biosecurity Basics and Livestock Diseases,” led by Chrisee Brandl, Livestock Field Specialist with University of Missouri Extension.
This practical session will help producers identify common livestock diseases, understand how they spread, and apply simple, effective biosecurity measures to protect their herds. Participants will also learn how to develop an on-farm biosecurity plan and explore preparedness tools like the Secure Beef Supply Plan to minimize disruption in the event of a disease outbreak.
Topics covered during the workshop will include common livestock diseases and how they are transmitted, the core principles of on-farm biosecurity, and ways to prevent disease spread. Attendees will also learn how to create a basic farm biosecurity and preparedness plan using practical tools and resources available.
