This field day is a cooperative effort between MU Extension, Lincoln University and NC-SARE Program to provide practical knowledge to sheep and goat producers to make their operations successful.
The field day is Friday, August 7, 2026 at 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at the SW MU Research Extension Education Center, 14548 Highway H, Mount Vernon, MO 65712.
This field day will provide education related to management intensive grazing of sheep and goats. Edcuational topics include:
- Forage/animal selection
- Nutritional management
- Parasite control
- Economics/marketing
- Grazing system layout, design, water and fencing
- Forage quality and quantity evaluation
- Health and body condition score evaluation
