Agroforestry

MU Extension promotes agroforestry as a sustainable approach to integrate trees, crops, and livestock on working lands for economic and environmental benefits. Programs offer training in silvopasture, riparian buffers, forest farming, alley cropping, community forest gardens, and windbreaks. These diversified agricultural practices help farmers and landowners increase productivity and conserve resources.

MU Extension often partners with the Mizzou Center for Agroforestry to develop agroforestry resources, including enterprise budgets, technical growing guides, and hands-on workshops.
