FNEP provides research-based nutrition education to Missouri’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients and those who are eligible. MU Extension nutrition educators work in a variety of settings throughout the state with the goal of helping participants make behavior changes to achieve lifelong health and fitness.
In order to promote healthier eating options while also keeping costs low and profit margins high, partners from across the state worked together to develop toolkits that offer healthy model guidelines, menu choices and easy-to-use tools for concessions in Missouri parks and schools.
Farm to School is any activity connecting schools to local food and farms. Its main goals are to serve fresh, high-quality, locally grown food in school cafeterias; to provide agriculture, health and nutrition education; and to support local and regional farmers.
Stock Healthy, Shop Healthy is a comprehensive, community-based program that enables communities to improve access to healthy foods by working with a small food retailer.
