Master Gardener volunteers answer home gardeners’ questions by email and phone.
Email stlgardenhotline@gmail.com or leave us a voicemail at 314-400-7657 (landline). Give us all the detail you can about the name of the plant and the history of its problems and include pictures of the following:
- Distance shot showing its environment.
- Closer shot of just the plant itself.
- Up close shot showing the area of concern.
Note: The hotline is not staffed 40 hours a week, but you will receive a response in a timely fashion.
St. Louis Garden Hotline
The St. Louis Master Gardener Hotline has been answering gardeners’ questions since 2019. We answer 400-500 questions a year; most are sent by email, but we also answer voicemail messages (314-400-7657).
We aim to provide the best research-based information available. Volunteers for the Hotline are required to be certified Master Gardeners. We provide additional in-person training for new volunteers (including approaches to finding reliable information and accessing experts for difficult questions) and ongoing continuing education for all our volunteers.
