Falls Free Missouri

Welcome to Falls Free Missouri! We are Missouri’s falls prevention coalition that provides a framework, infrastructure and guidance that can be shared with local coalitions and communities collaborating to implement falls prevention interventions. As a coordinated organization, our coalition can assist in streamlining opportunities for older adults who have been assessed as a high falls risk or help with connecting older adults with access to falls risk assessments. Our state coalition can provide opportunities for individuals in areas where there may not be falls prevention interventions by connecting them to available resources. We also connect organizations that have not traditionally collaborated on falls prevention strategies and activities.

Our coalition is facilitated through the Healthy Aging and Fall Prevention Work Group of the Missouri Council for Activity and Nutrition (MOCAN) and brings together stakeholders, organizations and people with lived experiences in the community to advocate and disseminate resources to aid care-partners, physicians, local organizations and individuals in healthy aging.

We intend to provide local resources from all over Missouri; a resource guide that offers home safety, nutrition, and physical activity strategies; and ongoing discussion on how to create a supportive landscape for Missouri’s older adults.
