MU Extension Livestock and Dairy Specialists are offering a calving clinic for producers wanting to learn more about when and how to intervene during difficult births as well as when and how to care for newborn calves.
This workshop will give attendees hands-on practice and instruction on obstetric chain placement, calf pulling, and esophageal tube feeding using cadaver calves. Instruction on the use of colostrum replacers vs supplements will be given.
This workshop is a great opportunity for cattle producers to learn or refresh their skills in a low-stakes environment.
The cost of this workshop is $45.
For questions, contact the Howell County Extension Office at 417-256-2391.
This workshop is scheduled for August 22nd from 9am - 12:30pm.
