Join us for the Franklin County Community Walks, hosted by University of Missouri Extension as part of the statewide 100 Miles, 100 Days initiative.

Taking place around the halfway point of the 100 day challenge, this free, in-person event is a fun and encouraging way to celebrate your progress, connect with your community, and stay motivated to keep moving through the rest of the summer. Whether you’ve already logged miles or are just getting started, everyone is welcome. The walk is open to all ages and abilities, and participants will have the opportunity to meet others taking part in the challenge, explore local trails or parks, and pick up helpful tips and resources to support their health goals.

The Franklin County Community Walks will be held at the Union City Lake Trail, Union, MO.  A community walk will be hosted Sunday July 6th, 13th, and 20th. Attend one or all of the walks! The relaxed 1-mile group walk will be offered while listening to a selected episode from the 'Huberman Lab Podcast" recently awarded "Best Wellness and Fitness Podcast of 2025" by the iHeartPodcast Awards. Episodes focus on healthy again, brain health, and staying active. Perfect topics for anyone wanting to take care of their body and mind.  A 1-mile loop route will be marked for the community walk. Benches and shaded rest areas are available along the trail, so you can go at your own pace.  Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water with you.

If you haven’t already, be sure to register for the statewide 100 Miles, 100 Days program to start tracking your activity and receive weekly motivation. Then sign up here to join your local Franklin County Community Walks—we can’t wait to see you there!
