This newsletter corresponds with Lesson 7 of the Show Me Nutrition Fifth Grade curriculum. Calcium is an important nutrient because it helps youths build bone, as well as provides potassium, which can help maintain healthy blood pressure. This newsletter provides a list of calcium-rich foods to try during meals and as healthy snacks. Recipes for easy fruit smoothies are also included.
