Industry 4.0 Manufacturing

The manufacturing landscape is evolving as more manufacturers adopt industrial automation, robotics, sensors, and other advanced technologies. The Industry 4.0 Certificate is a hybrid program designed to help professionals advance their understanding and skillsets around smart manufacturing.

The Industry 4.0 Certificate will begin in Summer 2025. The program is jointly developed by the University of Missouri College of Engineering and the MU Career Accelerator to propel the next generation of manufacturing leaders.

Participants will complete online material in preparation for attending laboratory classes on the University of Missouri- Columbia campus for four consecutive Fridays over the summer months.

Earn a topic certificate in any of the four topics:

  • Manufacturing Methods
  • Industrial Robotics
  • Industrial Automation
  • Smart Manufacturing

Each topic certificate is comprised of 24 hours of online content and 32 hours of hands-on laboratory experience.

Complete two topic certificates to earn an Industry 4.0 Certificate.

Requirements

Each topic certificate will take 6-weeks to complete. There will be a 1-2 week break in between sessions.

  • 24 hours of online content over six weeks
  • 32 hours of hands-on laboratory experience over four consecutive Fridays during the summer
