Does the regularity of summer drought have you considering alternative forage options to complement our cool-season grass pastures?

Tired of pulling a drill over the same ground every year to establish emergency summer annual forages?

Looking for a more sustainable way to source seed for native grass plantings on your farm? If so, consider joining MU Extension field specialists for an afternoon of presentations, field demonstrations, and discussions centered around native warm-season grasses, which can be high-quality perennial forages.

Through the course of the event we will cover topics like:

  • "Choosing the right native grasses for your farm and how to get them established"
  • "Growing native grasses specifically for seed production and sale"
  • "Harvesting and cleaning native grass seed"

This event is entirely free to attend, and snacks/drinks will be provided.
