Professional background

Anthony completed his Ph.D. in Plant and Soil Science at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. His dissertation research characterized the dissipation, degradation, adsorption, and mobility of the soil applied herbicide, sulfentrazone. He completed his bachelor's and master’s degrees in Agronomy at the University of Missouri – Columbia. His thesis research projects evaluated the genetic inheritance of an acetolactate synthase (ALS) resistant biotype of common cocklebur by outcrossing with an ALS susceptible biotype and efficacy field trials comparing resistant and susceptible biotypes to multiple herbicide modes of action.

Prior to joining University of Missouri Extension, Anthony was a Research Associate in Weed Science at the University of Missouri’s Fisher Delta Research, Extension, Education Center in Portageville, MO.

Areas of work

MU Extension Field Specialist in Agronomy, serving Southeast Missouri since October of 2001. Research-based agronomic programs in corn, soybean, wheat, forages, integrated pest management, private pesticide applicator training as well as industrial fiber hemp. Horticulture education efforts in turfgrass management.
