    Annie's Project: Empowering Women in Agriculture

ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri Extension and Annie’s Project are offering an urban agriculture risk management class in the St. Louis area in October and November.

Eliza Pessereau, MU Extension horticulture specialist, said the series has five online classes, two in-person farm walkabouts and two farm demonstrations to help participants learn best practices for product pricing and marketing. They’ll also learn about risk management, zoning and permit requirements for urban areas and how to grow mushrooms in urban spaces.

Virtual classes are 6-8 p.m. Mondays from Oct. 13 through Nov. 10. In-person farm walkabouts and demonstrations will take place the St. Louis area. Classes are available to all Missourians, regardless of residence, she said.

Scholarships are available for new and beginning producers in the city of St. Louis and the counties of St. Louis, St. Charles and Jefferson.
