MU Extension and Annie’s Project are offering a series of online classes and farm walk-abouts in the St. Louis metro area, this program is open to all Missourians
Online Classes:
- Monday, Oct 13, 6-8pm - Integrated Pest Management, Analyzing the cost of production, Becoming a vendor at the farmer's market
- Monday, Oct 20, 6-8pm - USDA/NRCS resources, Exploring different marketing models, Zoning & permits for urban farms
- Monday, Oct 27, 6-8pm - Business planning, Knowing how to price your product, Record keeping
- Monday, Nov 3, 6-8pm - FSA farm loans, Soil contamination & remediation
- Monday, Nov 10, 6-8pm - Owning or leasing land, Assessing your mental health, Can AI help you solve your problems?
In person classes:
- Saturday, Oct 18th 10am-12pm - What the bug?: Insect identification at Urban Buds Farm
- Saturday, Oct 25th 10am-12pm - Mushroom cultivation at Phi Global Farm
- Wednesday, Oct 29th 4-6pm - Farm walkabout at Thies Farm
- Saturday, Nov 8th 10am-12pm - Farm walkabout at STL Green Machine
COST: $40
Scholarships are available for new and beginning producers in St Louis City or St. Louis, St. Charles or Jefferson counties.
