We live in a world that celebrates being busy—but constant busyness comes at a cost. Between juggling work, family responsibilities, caring for loved ones, and shuttling kids to activities, it’s easy to feel stretched thin. While some stress can motivate us, too much can leave us drained and overwhelmed. Finding balance isn’t just a luxury—it’s essential.

That’s why MU Extension, in partnership with the Community Foundation of Lake of the Ozarks, is offering a FREE women’s health and wellness program designed just for YOU! Join us on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Trapshooters Association (MTA), 51 Trapshooters Rd, Linn Creek, MO.

We’ll begin the day with Taking Care of You, taught by MU Extension Human Development Specialist Della Miller. This research-based program, developed by an interdisciplinary MU Extension team, uses positive psychology and mindfulness to provide practical, everyday strategies for managing stress and enhancing well-being. The morning continues with an interactive discussion led by MU Extension Field Faculty in Economic and Community Development, Dr. Ashley Allen-Brown. We will explore how the eight dimensions of wellness, and a dose of self-love, can help us strengthen ourselves and our communities. To make the day even more enjoyable, participants will also be treated to a delicious lunch, courtesy of the Camden County Council of MU Extension.

For those who would like to extend the day, an optional women's recreational trapshooting event begins at 1:30 p.m. Let off a little steam with some friendly competition!

The cost for the recreational trapshooting portion is just $75 per person, payable to MTA on the day of the event, with pre-registration required.

Strong, Centered, and On-Target is part of the Resilient Economies and Community Health (REACH) for Women's Wealth and Health, a program of MU Extension intended to support strong women in creating stronger communities throughout the Lake of the Ozarks Area.

Sponsorships for this and other upcoming 2026 REACH for Women's Wealth and Health programs are available by contacting Dr. Ashley Allen-Brown: allen-browna@missouri.edu

This programming is made possible through MU Extension funding, a grant from the Community Foundation of the Lake of the Ozarks, and the generosity of the Camden County Council of MU Extension.
