Join us for an informational event designed to introduce the fundamentals of fresh produce (fruits and vegetables) safety and hygiene, with a particular focus on Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) compliance.

This event will combine traditional learning in a class format with an interactive tour of the Happy Hollow Organic Farm, providing examples of practices that demonstrate how the risks of fruit and vegetable contamination are managed. Specialists from the University of Missouri Extension service will discuss the principles of FSMA, including how to identify and assess contamination risks and best practices for minimizing those risks.

Participants will have the opportunity to tour the farm and engage in conversations with Extension specialists to learn more about how to implement produce safety and hygiene practices on their own farms.

This event is ideal for established and beginner farmers, as well as individuals who are considering farming as a new career.
