Join MU Extension, MU Center for Regenerative Agriculture, and Missouri Forage and Grassland Council staff for an exciting day of learning, networking, and discussion. The day will include plenty of time to network and connect with other Missouri grassfed beef producers.
The workshop is FREE and includes a catered lunch, but registration is REQUIRED for an accurate meal count. The event will be held in the education building at the MU Southwest Research, Extension, and Education Center, in Mt. Vernon, MO.
The day will start with coffee and networking at 8:30 am. Presentations and discussion will run from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
The day will conclude with an optional field trip to see cover crop grazing and grass finished steers.
Presentations for the day will include:
- Grassfed beef customer preference market research
- Meat tenderness and juiciness – What affects it?
- Results: grassfed beef nutrient density testing from Utah State
- Lack of fall moisture/fall stockpiled fescue: other options for fall/winter grazing
- Producer panel: warm season forage options for growing and finishing during summer heat
