This event is a cooperative effort between MU Extension, Show Youth Ag Academy, Barton County MO Cattlemen's Association, and Missouri State University to provide education on feeder cattle grading, marketing, and feeding in the feedlot. This event is held in conjunction with the Barton County MO Cattlemen's Association Meeting and will discuss the topics of: grading and pricing steers enrolled in the Missouri Steer Feedout; marketing and buying feeder cattle; nutritional management of feedlot cattle.
To cover these topics guest speakers include Lonnie Peetz, USDA Market Reporter, Jim Shultz, field representative with Joplin Regional Stockyards, and Robert Jones nutritionist with Great Plains Livestock and nutritionist for the Show Me Youth Ag Academy Feedlot.
Event is free to the public and a meal will be provided with the support of the Show Me Youth Ag Academy. Registration is required by the deadline to attend the event.
