Description
Smart Manufacturing: Sensors and Data Acquisition introduces the smart sensors, actuators, and data collection technologies that power Industry 4.0 and Industry Internet of Things (IIoT) environments. Participants will explore how to identify, select, and integrate smart sensors for data acquisition and actuators for automation within a smart manufacturing system.
Syllabus
Course Overview:
This course is part of the Smart Manufacturing micro-credential series. Participants may complete this course as a stand-alone certificate of completion or take all four micro-credentials to earn the Industry 4.0 Certificate in Smart Manufacturing.
A discounted rate is available when enrolling in the full four-course bundle.
Course Format:
This course includes three hours of online coursework completed at the day and time that fits your schedule, followed by an eight-hour, in-person, hands-on learning day in the Industry 4.0 Lab at Mizzou Engineering.
The online coursework will be available starting August 3rd and must be completed prior to the in-person learning day.
The in-person learning day in the Industry 4.0 lab will be on August 13th from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Learning Outcomes:
- Overview of cyber-physical system components and their role in smart manufacturing
- Introduction to Factory I/O for virtual production line design and simulation
- Hands on practice building a digital production line using Factory I/O and PLC.
