Syllabus

This course is offered as part of the noncredit Certificate in Public Management offered by the Truman School of Government and Public Affairs.

Course Overview:

This course focuses on the organization and division of service responsibility within local governments. There will be special emphasis on program implementation, productivity, planning, responsiveness.

Individuals will learn about:

  • Local Government Collaboration,
  • City Manager and Council-Manager Relations,
  • Local Government in State Context,
  • Citizen Engagement,
  • Options for Service Delivery, Decision Making Tools, and
  • the Budgeting Process.
