Description
Course Overview:
This course discusses some of the legal issues that civil engineers and construction managers encounter throughout the course of their careers. The focus of the course is to discuss how an engineer’s or project manager’s duties such as design, construction, management, and performance intersect with legal and social issues. This course is not intended to explain the practice of law. Because civil engineering projects are often large and involve significant amounts of right of way, engineers are often involved with project and construction management. Therefore, a significant portion of this course will involve issues related to construction management, especially contracting.
