- This option is for young people living some distance from a 4-H club, who have conflicts with school, work or other obligations, attending a college or university away from home, or who have a highly specialized interest.
- Age requirement: ages 8–18 on Dec. 31 of the program year.
- Individual members complete a plan (Y639, Individual 4-H Member Comprehensive Plan) and file it with the local University of Missouri Extension center.
