Missouri 4-H ranks second at American Royal livestock judging contest

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Andrew County 4-H Livestock Judging Team represented Missouri 4-H at the 2022 American Royal National 4-H/FFA Livestock Judging Contest in Kansas City on Oct. 16.  Team members include Ella Fischer, Paisley Nelson, Payton Rodgers, Sam Jordan and Gavin Rhode. The team is coached by Cody Sloan.

Missouri names delegates for 2023 National 4-H Conference

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Each year, Missouri 4-H sends representatives to the National 4-H Conference. In April 2023, Jake Bartlett of Platte County and Andrew Shelton of Barton County will travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in the pinnacle experience in 4-H Civic Engagement.

Missouri 4-H Dairy Judging finishes 2nd in Louisville

Missouri 4-H capped the year with a second place overall team finish at the 2022 North American International Livestock Exposition Dairy Judging Invitational Contest in Louisville, Kentucky, on Nov. 5. Nineteen youth teams competed.

Ina Linville inducted into National 4-H Hall of Fame

4-H youths fall into fashion

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The 2022 Missouri 4-H Fashion Revue drew 56 youths from 27 counties to model their garments and participate in educational workshops Oct. 8 on the University of Missouri campus.Missouri 4-H partnered with faculty from the Stephens College Department of Fashion and graduate students from the MU Department of Textile and Apparel Management to provide judging and workshops for this year’s event.

4-H Foundation endowment funds reaching many Missouri counties

County endowment funds created by the Missouri 4-H Foundation have had a significant impact on many Missouri counties within the last year. The Foundation currently manages six county endowment funds benefiting Barton, Callaway, Dade, Henry, Pike and St. Charles counties.

4-H primitive camping at Wurdack

COOK STATION, Mo. – Five Missouri 4-H youths took part in a first-ever primitive camping experience June 16-17 at the University of Missouri’s Wurdack Extension and Engagement Center in Cook Station.The campers were Neva Trosper, of Dent County, and Annabelle Edmonds, Connor Briggs, Wyatt Bobo and Evan Haberberger, all of Franklin County.

4-H youths test skills at State 4-H Horse Judging Contest

FULTON, Mo. – The University of Missouri Extension State 4-H Horse Judging Contest, April 9, drew 70 4-H members to compete at William Woods University in Fulton. The 4-H delegation was greeted by newly appointed William Woods University President Jeremy Moreland. Miserez-Carter 4-H Endowment Fund opens doors to careers in Cooperative Extension

COLUMBIA, Mo. – In 2019, Missouri 4-H lost a longtime friend, Victoria L. “Vicky” Miserez. For more than 30 years, Miserez served Boone County 4-H in many capacities, including sitting on the program’s board of trustees. Miserez’s husband, Bill Carter, established the Miserez-Carter 4-H Endowment Fund as a lasting testament to her love for 4-H. The fund finances the new Miserez-Carter 4-H Internship Program.
