Join our Freeze It! program to learn practical skills that help you cut down on food waste, stretch your grocery dollars and enjoy your meals safely.

In four weekly hands-on sessions, you’ll learn safe, research-based techniques for freezing foods, from fresh produce to leftovers. Led by trained MU Extension educators, Freeze It! combines easy-to-follow lessons with interactive activities so you can use what you learn right away.

You will learn:

  • Safe freezing methods
  • Packaging and labeling tips
  • Thawing frozen foods
  • How to maintain the best quality in your frozen foods
  • Strategies to plan meals and store ingredients
  • How to use your freezer to make cooking easier, whether you’re feeding one person or a family

Classes are fun, practical and supportive, and we encourage you to bring a friend or family member to share the fun.

Whether you’re new to freezing or looking to sharpen your skills, Freeze It! will give you the confidence to make the most of your food and your budget.
