Rope Rescue: Awareness/Operations is designed for individuals who are new to technical rescue or are preparing to sit for the State of Missouri Awareness/Operations certification exam. Students will discuss, develop and apply basic proficiencies in technical search and rescue. This course is tailored for individuals who, as part of their responsibilities, recognize risks, utilize equipment, and employ basic methods to execute technical rescue missions. This is a blended delivery course. Participants will have four weeks to complete the self-paced online coursework. Upon completion of an online end of coursework exam, the class will then meet in-person for skills instruction and practical evolutions. The requirements for this course are based on the Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications, NFPA 1006, Chapter 5, Sections 2-5; 2021 Edition.
