This course meets the objectives of NFPA 470, and OSHA 29 CFR1910.120. Topics include: Use of various monitoring technology available to the company officer, identification clues, interpretation of the clues, and development of strategic goals and objectives to respond to the hazardous materials incident based on clues present on a hazardous materials/WMD incident. Scenario based discussions for operations, technician and incident commanders related to risk assessment and classification of hazards. Topics: Collecting Hazard and Response Information; Predicting the Likely Behavior of a Material and Its Container; Estimating Potential Harm; Risk Assessment; and, Action Planning Concerns. Target Audience – Hazardous Materials Operations or Technician trained emergency responders. Has value to hazmat team members, branch officers and IC levels. Company Officers would benefit from this information as well.
