• firefighters training

This class is designed to introduce participants to the hazards and issues associated with grain entrapment/engulfment emergencies and basic techniques to safely conduct initial rescue operations. The classroom portion of the training includes the types of grain handling/storage facilities, hazards, and associated rescue problems. Federal regulations and standards will be discussed as they apply to grain bins and technical rescue operations. Attendees will learn to assess potential grain bin emergencies that could occur in their area and plan for the necessary resources to handle those events. As part of the training, participants will apply selected rescue techniques to safely retrieve victims from grain engulfment in a simulated grain bin rescue operation. They will also experience the effects of grain entrapment and perform self-rescue procedures.
