Professional background
A proud graduate of the University of Missouri, Richardson earned a Master of Arts in human development and family science. However, her affiliation with the university stretches back further: at the age of 10, she enrolled in 4-H. “MU Extension has played a significant role in my personal and professional accomplishments,” she says.
Now, Richardson works as an Extension and Engagement Specialist for MU Extension in east central Missouri covering the counties of Phelps, Dent, Pulaski, Crawford, Maries, Miller, and Gasconade counties. Previously, Richardson put her talents to work in southwest Missouri, where she provided local citizens with programs in nutrition and health and human development and family sciences. She focused particularly on vulnerable and high-risk populations, helping to reduce illness and improve quality of life for those living in the region.
“I love engaging with the public and learning through teaching; offering guidance to resources to help them reach their goals.” says Richardson.
In addition to her master’s degree, Richardson has earned a graduate certificate in Conflict Resolution and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with emphasis in Adult Learning.
