Learn how to graft your own fruit trees in this fun and engaging hands-on workshop offered by MU Extension and take home 2 apple trees you've grafted during the class.
Every apple sold is from a grafted tree, and you can learn this technique yourself to grow the apple varieties you enjoy on a semi-dwarf or dwarf rootstock that will fit well into your landscape. Grafting is done to provide good roots to a tasty fruit by combining a hardy rootstock with a desirable scion (variety).
You will learn the concepts of grafting, and then practice these concepts during class.
We provide the rootstocks and the scions, the supplies, and the tools, and you will take away two semi-dwarf apple trees.
