The 9th Annual Greene County Commissioners Ag Tour is taking place on Friday, September 6.

The Greene County Extension Council hosted its first Greene County Commissioners Ag Tour in 2017. Every year is designed to highlight unique agricultural businesses and efforts in Greene County. The Commissioners do have to make decisions that impact agriculture and this annual tour is a chance to educate them on the local agriculture and give local farmers and opportunity to interact with Commissioners.

Our tour is limited to 25 of fewer people. Those invited include Greene County Commissioners, Greene County office holders, elected officials representing the area, and sometimes local mayors or chamber directors.

The final version of the tour depends on who is open to having us stop by, any time restrictions they may have, and the location of sites we are visiting.

The 2024 tour will focus on the eastern side of the county, mainly in the East Springfield, Rogersville and Strafford areas.

This annual tour is an MU Extension community development effort under the Missouri EATs program, which is a partnership with Extension and communities across the state. Missouri EATs connects local stakeholders to build and strengthen their community’s food system. Missouri EATs is a community development process designed to engage people to identify local assets and needs; help them develop a plan to act on their top priorities; and make lasting changes to transform their local food system.
