Abstract

This meat goat budget estimates the costs and returns for a 50-doe meat goat herd in Missouri, with spring kidding in March and April and kids marketed at 60 to 70 pounds the following January. This production system takes advantage of spring forage availability, the natural breeding season, and typically higher seasonal market prices.
