About the Initiative

Mission

Recovery Friendly Missouri (RFM) helps businesses across the state foster supportive environments for employees in or seeking recovery from substance use disorders and mental health challenges.

What we mean by recovery

Recovery can take many forms. At RFM, we recognize and support recovery from substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and other life experiences that affect well-being. Our goal is to ensure that all employees feel valued, supported and empowered in the workplace.

Growth and reach

Since our first designation in Fall 2022, more than 50 employers — including schools, churches, manufacturers, nonprofits, and healthcare providers — have become Recovery Friendly Workplaces. Recovery Friendly Workplaces shine a spotlight on the health and well-being of all employees.

The Recovery Friendly Symbol

The Recovery Friendly symbol signifies workplaces and communities that think differently. These workplaces are addressing substance use disorder head-on by providing employees and community members with important health information and promoting a Recovery Friendly environment.
