How to begin a Garden 'n Grow program

The Garden 'n Grow program is sponsored and administered by University of Missouri Extension. The program is available to any Missouri community that has two caring adults who are willing to teach interested children, ages 9 to 13 years old, and will follow the guidelines established by MU Extension. The three basic components of the Garden 'n Grow program are two adult volunteers, 20 children and a plot of land suitable for gardening.

Each young gardener is teamed up with another to plant a theme garden. Some of these include:

  • Salsa gardenThree children working in a flowerbed
  • Rad garden
  • Rainbow garden
  • Spicy garden
  • Holiday garden
  • Relish tray garden
