The Maternal Nutrition Education Project is a FREE Cooking Matters class taught by MU Extension, funded by Missouri Medicaid Managed Care Organizations. It's a series of 6 classes (one class/week) that allow you to cook alongside instructors from your own home. The virtual instruction is provided live to a small group with the opportunity to interact with the instructor and other participants. This class is for pregnant Missouri Medicaid participants who have been referred by their case managers. If you are not a pregnant Missouri Medicaid member, please visit the MU Extension Cooking Matters website.
The class provides:
- Virtual cooking instruction, offered late afternoon/evening
- Free groceries to prepare each recipe that are delivered to your home
The benefits of participating include:
- Free groceries to prepare each recipe
- Learn new recipes and strategies to cook for picky eaters
- End each class with a prepared dish for your family’s meal
- Learn tips for stretching your food dollar
