Community Arts

The Community Arts Program provides expertise and support to promote and foster art-based community and economic development.

The Community Arts Program is a three-way partnership between MU Extension, the University of Missouri, and Missouri communities to promote and foster arts-based community and economic development.

Through arts-based programming and planning, the Community Arts Program partners with communities to connect people, create empathy, build platforms for deep reflection, break down barriers, and help communities embrace cultural heritage tourism. We celebrate the rich lives of the people of Missouri and their diversity by producing relevant, reliable, and responsive educational strategies that enhance access to the resources and research of the University of Missouri.

We do this by:

  • Helping communities develop festivals and fairs
  • Arts consultation for individuals, organizations and municipalities
  • Arts advocacy and resource development
  • Educational mini-webinars
