• Fire in the Attic

Many firefighter injuries and deaths have occurred in half-story homes. Killer in the Attic addresses fire behavior and fire travel, half-story construction features, collapse zones, ventilation, and interior attack options. Using fifteen video segments the students will see real world events covering flashover, backdraft, rollover, and sixteen case studies where firefighters were at high risk, injured or killed. Class member teams will analyze case studies from the class and from local incidents and develop response, ventilation and interior attack procedures.
