STOCKTON, Mo. – “There was a strong showing at the 104th Southwest Missouri All Breeds Performance Test Bull Sale on Oct. 28 at the Springfield Livestock Marketing Center in Springfield,” says Patrick Davis, University of Missouri Extension livestock field specialist. Thirty-two bulls sold for an average price of $4,263 per bull. By breed, the 30 Angus bulls sold for an average of $4,303 per bull, one Hereford bull sold for $3,700 and one SimAngus bull sold for $3,600.
“The top-selling bulls of the sale were Angus bulls from consigners that have consigned in previous sales,” says Davis. Two Angus bulls brought $6,000 and topped the sale. One top-selling bull was consigned by Gleonda Angus Farm of Miller, Mo., and sold to Blackjack Springs Ranch of Miller, Mo. The other top-selling bull was consigned by Brubaker Genetics of Lamar, Mo., and sold to G&J Anderson Ranch of Selingmann, Mo.
“The only Hereford bull consignment was provided by Cork Cattle Co. of Wentworth, Mo., which has consigned in previous sales,” says Davis. The Hereford bull sold to Blackwell Farms of Lockwood, Mo.
“The only SimAngus bull consignment was provided by Show Me Prime Angus Ranch LLC of Sarcoxie, Mo., which has consigned in previous sales,” says Davis. The SimAngus bull sold to Marion Farms of Pierce City, Mo.
