CRANE, Mo. – The 94th Stone County Livestock and Forage Conference is 6-8:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at the First Baptist Church, 30 Hallelujah Ave., Crane, Mo.
“This long-running conference will continue to equip livestock producers to better manage their operations, stay economically viable and provide quality beef products for our nation,” said Tim Schnakenberg, University of Missouri Extension field specialist in agronomy.
MU Extension state beef genetics specialist Jamie Courter will share ideas on how Missouri beef producers can better match their cows to today’s environment. MU Extension’s new local field specialist in livestock, Ian McGregor, will discuss forage-based nutrition for cows.
Jake Hefley, field specialist in ag business, will provide some insights on what livestock producers need to know going into 2025.
Southwest Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and local businesses will provide a free rib-eye steak sandwich for those who preregister early. Financial support is from Earlybird Feed & Fertilizer, FCS Financial, Four State Stockyards, Rocking W Farm & Home, Shelter Insurance – Hammen Agency, Simmons Bank, Stockmens Bank, Stone County Farm Bureau and the Stone County Soil and Water Conservation District.
