Stocker Cattle Risk Management Workshop set for April 2 in Hermitage

STOCKTON, Mo. – Proper cattle management and protecting your profits in a volatile cattle market is important to stocker cattle operation sustainability,” says Patrick Davis, University of Missouri Extension livestock field specialist.

MU Extension is partnering with Hometown Crop Solutions to provide a free Stocker Cattle Risk Management Workshop 6 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at the MU Extension Center in Hickory County, 22126 U.S. Highway 54, Hermitage.

“This workshop will focus on stocker cattle management and risk protection,” Davis says. Davis and livestock field specialist Andy McCorkill will discuss stocker cattle nutrition and health management. Gavon Hutchison with Hometown Crop Solutions will discuss risk protection on stocker cattle.

“The workshop is free and a meal will be provided with support from Hometown Crop Solutions,” says Davis. However, registration is required by March 26.
