    Recovery Friendly Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Addiction costs Missouri $1.4 million per hour, but a recovery-friendly workplace can increase profits for businesses and foster an employee-focused culture. Enhancements to the Recovery Friendly Workplace-Missouri website provide new resources to help you learn more and do more in your community.

A new resource library lets you quickly find information you need. Resources on the site include articles and essays, data and fact sheets, tool kits, training guides and website and hotline links. Check the resource library regularly, as new information is added frequently.

In addition to the resource library, the Community Data Report has been integrated into the site. This free report, created in collaboration with MU Extension’s Center for Applied Research and Engagement Systems (CARES), includes 80 indicators related to population, social determinants, health behaviors, health workforce, clinical indicators, mortality and health outcomes, business and economy and ZIP code health factors. The data are drawn from a variety of state-level sources (e.g., Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Department of Health and Senior Services) and national-level sources (e.g., Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis). For more information on using the report, check out this recent blog post.

Consult the resource library for news and updates related to opioid use disorder; background information on opioid use disorder basics, prevention, treatment and recovery; and tool kits on creating a more recovery-friendly workplace. Use the Community Data Report to learn more about the health, behaviors and economy of your county or public health region to create data-informed plans.

The Recovery Friendly Workplace-Missouri resource library, Community Data Report and website design are a collaboration of MU Extension Community Health Engagement and Outreach and CARES.
