MEXICO, Mo. – University of Missouri Extension is offering multiple workshops on farm leases in October and November.

“Farm leases are a popular topic given the current ag environment and the changing conditions,” says University of Missouri Extension agricultural business specialist Mary Sobba. “This program helps landlords and tenants understand the terms and expectations to develop a fair agreement for both.” There will be opportunities to attend in person or online.

Topics include current cash rents and trends in Missouri, items to discuss for lease content, when and how to terminate a farm lease, types of leases and a case study. In addition, each participant will receive materials to take home.

The in-person classes are 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Macon and 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 in Montgomery City. There will be an online class 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6.
