MOUNT VERNON, Mo. – Families, caregivers, educators and community members are invited to the Community Resource Fair & Disability Expo 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the University of Missouri Southwest Research Center in Mount Vernon.

This free event brings together more than 50 organizations offering services and resources for individuals with disabilities, their families and anyone seeking support in southwestern Missouri, said MU Extension field specialist Amy Patillo.  Attendees can connect directly with agencies providing access to education, employment, housing, transportation, therapy and more.

Hosted by MU Extension, Missouri AgrAbility, the Lawrence County Board for the Developmentally Disabled, the Coalition of Charities and other local partners, the expo is designed to help individuals find the help they need all in one place, Patillo said.

“This event is all about making connections and removing barriers,” she said. “Whether you're looking for disability services, health and safety education, tools for independent living, or just want to learn what’s out there, you’ll find it here.”
