KEYTESVILLE, Mo. – In recognition of Missouri Good Neighbor Week 2026, the University of Missouri Extension Council in Chariton County participated in a statewide effort to strengthen community connections through simple acts of kindness.
Missouri Good Neighbor Week, observed Sept. 28-Oct. 4, encourages residents to build relationships and show appreciation for their neighbors and local communities.
As part of the celebration, members of the Chariton County Extension Council delivered gourmet cookies to Fulbright Museum in Sumner, Brunswick Area Heritage Museum in Brunswick, General Sterling Price Museum in Keytesville and Chariton County Historical Museum in Salisbury. The gesture was intended to thank museum staff and volunteers for their dedication to preserving local history, providing educational opportunities, and enriching the quality of life for county residents.
“Good Neighbor Week reminds us that small acts of appreciation can have a meaningful impact,” said representatives of the Extension Council. “Our local museums play an important role in connecting people to the history and heritage of Chariton County, and we wanted to recognize their contributions.”
Through this activity, the Chariton County MU Extension Council joined communities across Missouri in promoting kindness, gratitude and stronger neighborhood connections during Good Neighbor Week 2026.
