Join us for this fun and unique program! Whether you're looking to improve balance, reduce arthritis pain and stiffness, or simply enjoy gentle movement, this class is a great way to stay active and connect with others. No experience needed- just bring your energy and a smile!
The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention program is designed to improve multiple aspects of health through slow, gentle movements that can be practiced almost anywhere. The degree of exertion can be easily adjusted, making this program suitable for adults of all levels and abilities. Published medical studies have shown benefits, such as pain relief, improved balance and reduced falls.
You will learn warmup exercises, six basic and six advanced moves and a cooldown during 19, 90-minute classes, held twice a week (self-led on 10/15). Participants need to be available for most classes because each class builds on the previous one and regular attendance is essential for success.
Harmony of inner and outer self comes from integrating mind and body, which can be achieved through the ongoing practice of tai chi. Come move, breathe, and make new friends in a welcoming and supportive space.
