The evidence-based Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase independent living older adults’ access to a safe, structured, and effective strength-training program. Over eight weeks, participants learn exercises to improve strength, flexibility and balance as well as learn about nutrition. At each class, a prescribed set of eight upper and lower body strengthening exercises are completed along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. SSSH helps participants meet the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s physical activity recommendations.

This course is being held at Young School (505 N Dodgion Ave, Independence, MO 64050).
