Lake of the Ozarks Area businesses are grappling with the significant challenge of recruiting and retaining workers. According to the Missouri Hospital Association, more than $1 million an hour is spent fighting the opioid epidemic in the workplace. Across Missouri, many individuals of working age are struggling with addiction and substance use, impacting their ability to join the workforce. Investing in solutions that address these issues can empower our community and boost participation in Missouri's workforce.
The University of Missouri (MU) Extension Recovery Friendly Workplace program and certification empower employers and practitioners to foster a workplace culture prioritizing safety, health, and well-being.
The Recovery Friendly Workplace Learning Luncheon offers employers, decision-makers, healthcare practitioners, and concerned community members the chance to hear from labor and workforce development experts who will explain how this program equips participants with strategies to reduce stigma and provide recovery resources.
Cost: Only $25 per person (includes buffet lunch, program, and materials)
