Completing this training makes one eligible for the Noncertified Restricted-Use Pesticide (NRUP) Applicator license. The license will allow you to legally use or determine the need for the use of any restricted use pesticide while under the direct supervision of a certified commercial applicator, certified noncommercial applicator or certified public operator.

This training covers important competency standards including:

  • Reading and Understanding Pesticide Labels
  • Pesticide Application Techniques
  • Storing and Disposing of Chemicals Safely
  • Protecting Pollinators and other Wildlife.

It also explains state and federal rules about pesticide use and provides applicators with an opportunity to ask questions about the latest developments.

This training program helps protect people, crops, animals, and the environment while promoting safe pesticide use.

This NRUP training is for individuals as defined by the Missouri Department of Agriculture (MDA) website as:

“Individuals who use a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) in a commercial, noncommercial or public operator setting must, at minimum, have an NRUP license. NRUP license holders are not certified. Anyone licensed as an NRUP applicator must remain under the direct supervision of a Certified Applicator working for the same business, and from the same business location.

NRUP licenses do not have categories. NRUP Applicators can use General Use and Restricted Use Pesticides ONLY in the categories their direct supervisor holds on their Certified Applicator license.”

For more information on MDA NRUP license requirements visit MDA Pesticide Control website.   This training offers a NRUP license that is valid for 1 year.
