Livestock Genetics Unlocked is an interactive youth event that introduces participants to the basics of livestock genetics and how traits are passed from one generation to the next in cattle, sheep, goats, and swine.

A highlight of the program is the Genetic Lock Box Challenge, where youth solve genetically focused puzzles to discover the combinations needed to unlock a series of locks on a mystery box. The activity is adapted for different age groups, helping youth learn key livestock genetics concepts in a fun, hands-on way.

This program helps youth better understand animal selection, inherited traits, and how genetics impacts livestock production. This program is offered for youth ages 8 and up.
