The Elevator Operations is an 8-hour day filled with classroom and hands-on training. This course brings awareness to the rescuer on how to safely handle elevator emergencies. Most elevator incidents are not true “Emergencies” but a mere inconvenience. This course will help the Firefighter to identify the different between the two and then how to appropriately handle the incident. You will learn necessary procedures while performing an elevator emergency safely. You will understand step-by-step instructions to perform an elevator rescue of trapped occupants, prior to entering the hoistway. The hands-on portion, students will visit a site with a hydraulic, cable and MRL elevator. The class is designed to benefit all firefighter that will be involved with rescue.
